☆ Twelfth Wish ☆ - [Action | Voice]
[It's a pretty ordinary day as ordinary days go. The weather's nice - sunny, warm, a calm wind...a very ordinary day indeed. And Norma is soaking up the peace and quiet in as much as she can. Dressed down in some dark skinny jeans (which she has learned as super freaking comfy) and a ruffly yellow top, she's laying on the grass by the bank of the southern lake. Usually, she'd be basking like this at the ocean, but that was just too far away this time, and she's feeling kind of lazy. Even the energetic ones have to buckle down and take a break to just relax once in a while.
She has a certain someone's hat (in black!) covering her face to keep off the sun and the insects that seem to be buzzing to life. The only bad thing about the springtime according to Norma. But, thankfully, not very many were out even now. She sighs under the hat crosses her hands behind her head to catch up on one hell of a nap.
...Until she hears a very peculiar buzzing in her ear. Thinking it to be a bug of some sort, she absently swats her hand at the sound, but it doesn't go away on little bit. It persists, and Norma frowns, using both hands now to swat the unyielding creature. Finally, she gets fed up and sits straight up, the hat flopping into her lap.]
OOOH, WILL YOU SHUT UP?! Some of us wanna take a nap in the sunshine, jeez!
[Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, miss, but there's not a damn thing around to be seen. In fact, the peculiar noise seems to be coming not from the flora or fauna, but from the lakefront. The water seems to be beckoning. Noisily. Or at least that's what it...seems like. Norma can't quite make out what the voice(?) really wants. If you could even call it a voice - kinda just an annoying noise.]
...Nessy? [No, no, can't be. Nerifes was back on her world, obviously. But wait, maybe it was one of those spirit thingies she heard about? Well, if that's right, then--] Jeez! It's about time! You're the water do-hickey person, right? I've been trying to get a hold of you for ever and you just wake me up like that?! Well, maybe I don't wanna talk anymore, how 'bout that? Not unless you got something good to say - or teach me or whatever. I could do with some water based eres under my belt.
[Later, after she's had her quip with Sona (who Norma's happily nicknamed So-Noisy),she opens her journal up as she dips her feet into the water of the lake.]
Uh, I don't usually ask for pointers on ere--uh, I mean...magic, but anyone who knows some good water spells or something, think you could give me a hand? I'm preeetty good with my elemental-based crystal eres, but I still don't know water, wind, and light. And just a little electricity.
I guess what I'm asking is if anyone's got magical talent, pipe up now, cuz I wanna learn more of it! Especially the ones I don't know! Oh, and I guess I could return the favor, too. I mean, if you wanna know some of what I know, I could give it a shot myself. Name's Norma by the way, for anyone who just got dumped here. Norma Beatty, expert treasure hunter and skilled eren in all aspects of offense, defense, and healing crystal eres, ta-daaah~!
And I'm cute, too. [Wink. ♥]

[Man, there's a lot of different terms for magic in various places, aren't there? But Norma's heard this one word before, from several people - "artes". And those cryas artes sound pretty similar to crystal eres. Maybe this is the way to go, then? I mean, it seems they're also elemental based, too, from what Norma's gathering.]
Awesome! I can probably figure out some more lightningy crystal eres on my own, but water and wind's what I've wanted to learn for a while now. Thanks a lot, Drill Girl!

[Plus seeing her artes in action would probably be a lot more helpful than any sort of explanation that Pascal comes up with.]

[Considering Norma's strongest spells are fire based, it's probably a good idea not to risk property damage and have her spells contained. Plus, she can kick up a monster generator or something - just so she has a target to work with that isn't human.]

[Going to the Battle Dome is always an adventure, that console is the best thing ever. Before she can get a reply, Pascal slams her journal shut and starts making her way to the dome.]

[And, after closing her journal and gathering up her bag and hat, Norma makes her way swiftly to the battle dome. Momentarily she waves bye-bye to the lake, and the spirit she spoke with there, but then is bounding toward the large building in earnest. She's not too sure about this weird, energetic chick's powers, or her skill-level, but eh...worth a shot! She'll be there in a few minutes, and wait as patiently as she can.]
no subject
Phew, okay.... Made it!
[Once she's caught her breath they can get down to the whole flashy magic learning thing.]
no subject
Took you long enough! I almost ruined my shoes getting this thing to work right!
no subject
Whoah, you must've been doing some serious tappadancing to put together a whole simulation like that.
[Programing with your feet? Talk about impressive. And here's Pascal using her hands like a chump.]
no subject
Yeah, okay, I guess you could call it that. Now c'mon, you said you were gonna show me something flashy? Well, pop up a monster or whatever and show me what you've got, Drill Girl!
no subject
[Today's unlucky monster will be the Grandtoise. Big, bulky and the perfect target for all sorts of spells and such. It kind of looks like an overgrown tortoise with a desert on its back.]
Y'okay, so let's start with water and go from there. You'll be splashing bad guys in the face in no time!
[Pascal moseys over into the chamber and takes her sweet time admiring the scenario Norma whipped up. Meanwhile the monster she programmed in ambles around in the middle of the colossum. She'll be getting to the monster guy. In a second or three.]
no subject
Awesome! I'll hang back and watch to see how its done and all that, okay? Let 'er rip, Drill Girl! Show that scaly sand-sucker you mean business! Chaaarge!
no subject
[-By standing right where she is and not moving to engage the monster at all!
Eventually the giant tortoise realises someone is watching it, so it starts its slow advance on Pascal. It might be plodding along the speed of a... Well, a giant tortoise, but its a hefty beast that can definitely pack a punch when it's close enough. And those snapping jaws too, you really don't want to get to close to this guy.
Pascal stays in the same spot, lightly hopping from one foot to the other and she watches the monster shuffle around. The water, splashing and flashiness is coming, really. Any second now. Aaany second. Right now.
...
Might want to grab a chair or something for this.]

DONE
/claps!
[Plod. Plod. Okay, it's within snapping distance now. The Grandtoise pulls its head back and gets ready to chomp on down. Before the poor tortoise even has a chance to strike, Pascal flips her shotstaff around in front of her, chants for a moment, and-]
One big blue swirly, comin' up!
[SUDDENLY WATER SPLASHING ALL AROUND PASCAL WHOAH.]
(yay)♥
Whooooaaa!! That was awesome! [But...wait. Maelstrom? That was one of G-Girl's high crystal eres! I mean, the execution of the spell was a little bit different, but it remained the same, more or less. How weird...] Uh--wow. What else've you got?
[Now she's just curious.]
no subject
[Cue a geyser of water bursting up from underneath the turtle. It might not be as impressive as Maelstrom, but Spread can be cast much faster. So fast that Pascal ends up juggling the poor turtle around on bursts of water for a few seconds before letting it fall flat on its back.]
no subject
Oooh, that's so awesome! Teach me that one, Drill Girl! How'd you do it, huh?!
no subject
[Since the turtle seems to preoccupied with trying to flip itself over, Pascal takes a break and hops back over to Norma.]
Sooo it's all to do with the eleth! The ol' boomstick here has some device in it which uses cryas to draw power from eleth. Then, you use that eleth to get the smack down on the enemy! It's kinda like harnessing magical power or whatever you wanna call, since other places have their own way of dealin' with this sorta stuff. [Like fonons and mana and all that jazz she's heard about.] You following me?
no subject
But I've never tried to get a solid grip on water, so it miiight take me a while. But I can try for that bursty water spell you did, Drill Girl. [Sigh, it'd be easier if she had eres stones to assist in learning spells, since they help draw in eres of varying elements, but alas - such things don't exist here.] Lemme give it a shot, okay? And cover me or something if I really mess it up!
no subject
Pascal flips her shotstaff around, folding it over into a rifle before giving a Norma a thumbs up.] Don't worry, I've got your back! If that big. angry turtle gets the jump on ya' I'll send him packing. You just focus on getting your splashy-splash on!
