☆ Twelfth Wish ☆ - [Action | Voice]

[It's a pretty ordinary day as ordinary days go. The weather's nice - sunny, warm, a calm wind...a very ordinary day indeed. And Norma is soaking up the peace and quiet in as much as she can. Dressed down in some dark skinny jeans (which she has learned as super freaking comfy) and a ruffly yellow top, she's laying on the grass by the bank of the southern lake. Usually, she'd be basking like this at the ocean, but that was just too far away this time, and she's feeling kind of lazy. Even the energetic ones have to buckle down and take a break to just relax once in a while.

She has a certain someone's hat (in black!) covering her face to keep off the sun and the insects that seem to be buzzing to life. The only bad thing about the springtime according to Norma. But, thankfully, not very many were out even now. She sighs under the hat crosses her hands behind her head to catch up on one hell of a nap.

...Until she hears a very peculiar buzzing in her ear. Thinking it to be a bug of some sort, she absently swats her hand at the sound, but it doesn't go away on little bit. It persists, and Norma frowns, using both hands now to swat the unyielding creature. Finally, she gets fed up and sits straight up, the hat flopping into her lap.]

OOOH, WILL YOU SHUT UP?! Some of us wanna take a nap in the sunshine, jeez!

[Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, miss, but there's not a damn thing around to be seen. In fact, the peculiar noise seems to be coming not from the flora or fauna, but from the lakefront. The water seems to be beckoning. Noisily. Or at least that's what it...seems like. Norma can't quite make out what the voice(?) really wants. If you could even call it a voice - kinda just an annoying noise.]

...Nessy? [No, no, can't be. Nerifes was back on her world, obviously. But wait, maybe it was one of those spirit thingies she heard about? Well, if that's right, then--] Jeez! It's about time! You're the water do-hickey person, right? I've been trying to get a hold of you for ever and you just wake me up like that?! Well, maybe I don't wanna talk anymore, how 'bout that? Not unless you got something good to say - or teach me or whatever. I could do with some water based eres under my belt.

[Later, after she's had her quip with Sona (who Norma's happily nicknamed So-Noisy),she opens her journal up as she dips her feet into the water of the lake.]

Uh, I don't usually ask for pointers on ere--uh, I mean...magic, but anyone who knows some good water spells or something, think you could give me a hand? I'm preeetty good with my elemental-based crystal eres, but I still don't know water, wind, and light. And just a little electricity.

I guess what I'm asking is if anyone's got magical talent, pipe up now, cuz I wanna learn more of it! Especially the ones I don't know! Oh, and I guess I could return the favor, too. I mean, if you wanna know some of what I know, I could give it a shot myself. Name's Norma by the way, for anyone who just got dumped here. Norma Beatty, expert treasure hunter and skilled eren in all aspects of offense, defense, and healing crystal eres, ta-daaah~!

Yes. Nymphs often are the speakers for spirits in my home land. Is it not so for you?

Uh...noooot that I know of? [Norma glances away, shifting uncomfortably. Nymphs were monsters in her world, and usually attacked and/or preyed on weak travelers or people like her - treasure hunters.] They're, um, not exactly friendly where I come from.

[She can't help it. She grins, highly amused and shows off her fangs a bit more than she means to.] Yes, I suppose we can be rather unfriendly to those who we do not like.

Yeah, well...a lotta good that'll do you when people com 'round to fight back.

[Norma grumbles, frowning. Yeah, she's not too excited about the turn this conversation took, and especially with how happy this chick seems to be while talking about attacking people. Creep. Maybe Norma ought to just pack up and depart herself. She can talk to Sona elsewhere, maybe.]

I don't fight with people unless they threaten me.

[Xzana will not stop Norma if she decides to leave. She only came out because she thought she was being called for.]

[...Huh. She's heard that one before, but considering how blunt and honest this weird chick is, Norma's inclined to believe her. And considering there are wise, even honest monster existing even on Melfes, she doesn't back off just yet. She has no reason to attack, so this girl should have no reason to fight back, right? Let's keep it that way.]

Well, consider yourself a step up from most monsters on my planet, then. They usually hit first and ask questions never. The bigger and badder ones usually look for a fight, too.

[She scoffs at being called a monster.] I am no monster. I may be of mixed blood, but the noble blood of the dragons still flow through my veins.

[And, go figure, the accidental name-calling soars wild and free over Norma's head. She just blinks and tilts her head to one side, eyebrows lifting up.]

Jeez, a nymph and a dragon? That's pretty impressive. Can't say I'm anything other than a normal, boring ol' human...though with some pretty awesome talents as a crystal eren.

[Xzana simply hums at being called 'impressive'. If this girl didn't realize how being mixed blood typically weakens a creature in her world she doesn't exactly feel the need to share that information.]

I do not know what a crystal eren is.

[Better than being a true and true alien on hers. Norma still doesn't exactly want to believe her entire species of land-dwellers are from another planet that isn't Melfes, the planet she's called home for her entire life. People are people, right? Isn't that what the restoration project was supposed to be proving? That Orerines and Ferines didn't have to slaughter each other left and right?]

It just means I can use crystal eres - healing and elemental magic. Look, see? [She readies a spell, a low-level healing one, and the tips of her fingers glow a pale blue-green.] The term eres means fingernail or claw in another language, so it makes sense that those who can use them's fingertips glow when they do.

[Xzana watches as the fingertips glow. Acting neither surprised or threatened as they do so.] A human who can wield magic. There are kind like you back in my homeland. Although they are not called crystal eres. Simply they are magic users, or wizards if they are trained well enough.

...So I've heard. [Honestly, Norma knows it's magic, but that just doesn't roll off the tongue like eres does. Norma just shrugs carelessly as the glow fades from her fingertips when she cancels the spell.] But we're basically the same thing, I think. Eres means magic where I come from, just in another language. And I'm pretty sure there are other terms in other worlds for the exact same thing, too.

It is hard to learn human talk. You have so many words that mean the same thing. [She does her best! Honest!]

Hahahaha!! You don't even know the half of it! Try learning to read and transcribe Relares, then we can talk about how hard languages and words are. [Seriously. Relares is the hardest written language on her planet, and while Norma may be the only one of her kind (one not born from the tribe/species that actually writes said language) she still understands how difficult it is.]

But I'll bet your world's the same, right? Like, you've got your own language and words and stuff that humans or other things would find hard, right? It's just a matter of what you've been born into, I thin.

Humans would not be able to make the same sounds as dragons do. As some dragons and creatures are incapable of creating the words that humans use. It is a matter of life and ability as you say.

Eeexactly~! Everyone, every world, every kind of culture or whatever has their own language and stuff. You're just a bit more special if you happen to know more than one. Or a really hard one. [Modest as ever, Norma...]

Hey, what's your name anyway? [Not that is really matters, because Norma never uses a person's real name, but it'll help her pick a decent nickname.]

My mother named me Xzana. [She doesn't ask for a name in return. She knows she's terrible at remembering anyway unless meetings happen fairly regularly. If the human wanted to share she would. Or that's what she's been learning of their behavior.]

Xzan...Za...oooh, that's gonna be tough to remember. Or to even say. Hm, how about I just call you Z for short? Short, sweet, and simple~! It's perfect! [Indeed it is, and it is also stuck in Norma's head now and will be her new acquaintance's nickname until the day she decides to change it.]

I'm Norma by the way, Norma Beatty - world's greatest, sweetest, and prettiest treasure hunter ever!

[She learned long ago that her name never sounded right on the human tongue. It wasn't one that was suppose to be used by humans anyway, but Z? Really?]

[Nice try, Xzana, but the nickname's already stuck, and will be stuck like glue until Norma thinks of something better or sillier. Until then, nothing will change her mind, though she'll at least cast the illusion of understanding.]

Yeah, yeah, sure--anyway, did you know the spirity-thing that was here? I mean, since you're kinda living under there and stuff. Oooor if you know any kind water spells, it'd be really awesome if you lent a hand to someone in need~!

Yes. I know Sona and I know how to use water spells. However, what I know I can not teach. It is simply a part of me, not a teaching.

Awww...jeez. Can't catch a break today, I guess. Oh well...maybe someone else'll open up or something. [But at least Norma can understand when someone can't teach her anything because of a real and good reason. And she's not going to push it, either.]

Sona is near. If you listen, she will speak to you, but she will not use words as humans speak.

Yeah, I know. I...actually think she tries to talk to me just a minute ago. I kept hearing this sound, like a buzzing in my ear or something, and I coulda sworn there was someone else here with me. Like, not really a person, y'know, but...uh....kinda like a presence.

It felt a lot like Nessy, actually...

Then that might have been Sona, but I do not know who this Nessy is.
