☆ Twelfth Wish ☆ - [Action | Voice]
[It's a pretty ordinary day as ordinary days go. The weather's nice - sunny, warm, a calm wind...a very ordinary day indeed. And Norma is soaking up the peace and quiet in as much as she can. Dressed down in some dark skinny jeans (which she has learned as super freaking comfy) and a ruffly yellow top, she's laying on the grass by the bank of the southern lake. Usually, she'd be basking like this at the ocean, but that was just too far away this time, and she's feeling kind of lazy. Even the energetic ones have to buckle down and take a break to just relax once in a while.
She has a certain someone's hat (in black!) covering her face to keep off the sun and the insects that seem to be buzzing to life. The only bad thing about the springtime according to Norma. But, thankfully, not very many were out even now. She sighs under the hat crosses her hands behind her head to catch up on one hell of a nap.
...Until she hears a very peculiar buzzing in her ear. Thinking it to be a bug of some sort, she absently swats her hand at the sound, but it doesn't go away on little bit. It persists, and Norma frowns, using both hands now to swat the unyielding creature. Finally, she gets fed up and sits straight up, the hat flopping into her lap.]
OOOH, WILL YOU SHUT UP?! Some of us wanna take a nap in the sunshine, jeez!
[Yeah, that's all fine and dandy, miss, but there's not a damn thing around to be seen. In fact, the peculiar noise seems to be coming not from the flora or fauna, but from the lakefront. The water seems to be beckoning. Noisily. Or at least that's what it...seems like. Norma can't quite make out what the voice(?) really wants. If you could even call it a voice - kinda just an annoying noise.]
...Nessy? [No, no, can't be. Nerifes was back on her world, obviously. But wait, maybe it was one of those spirit thingies she heard about? Well, if that's right, then--] Jeez! It's about time! You're the water do-hickey person, right? I've been trying to get a hold of you for ever and you just wake me up like that?! Well, maybe I don't wanna talk anymore, how 'bout that? Not unless you got something good to say - or teach me or whatever. I could do with some water based eres under my belt.
[Later, after she's had her quip with Sona (who Norma's happily nicknamed So-Noisy),she opens her journal up as she dips her feet into the water of the lake.]
Uh, I don't usually ask for pointers on ere--uh, I mean...magic, but anyone who knows some good water spells or something, think you could give me a hand? I'm preeetty good with my elemental-based crystal eres, but I still don't know water, wind, and light. And just a little electricity.
I guess what I'm asking is if anyone's got magical talent, pipe up now, cuz I wanna learn more of it! Especially the ones I don't know! Oh, and I guess I could return the favor, too. I mean, if you wanna know some of what I know, I could give it a shot myself. Name's Norma by the way, for anyone who just got dumped here. Norma Beatty, expert treasure hunter and skilled eren in all aspects of offense, defense, and healing crystal eres, ta-daaah~!
And I'm cute, too. [Wink. ♥]

And I'm cute, too. [Wink. ♥]
action;
Norma shrugs at the quip about the water spirit appearing near water, but she does take in the thing about Nerifes being confined only to the sea. Considering how Melfes was basically all ocean, Norma can kind of understand. Still, it's kind of interesting how there are different variations between spirits of all water and one solely for the sea. Mythology is so damn fascinating. ♥]
Huh, wha--...oh. Well, I only just got in contact with her, so I don't really know anything about how to use water...magic. [Jeez, that's never going to roll off the tongue right.] Not yet, anyway. I'm pretty sure it's gonna take a while, but I do intend to learn some wicked spells in the future!
action;
And he can get the magic thing. It doesn't roll off the tongue like eres does.
He takes a couple of steps closer, though it's nothing too intrusive. He wants a better look at the water.]
You'll get the hang of it. You're a strong eren.
[He didn't see her around much, honestly, but he'd seen enough from those little glimpses. And to have done what she did with the others, she's without a doubt powerful.]
action; 1/3
action; 2/3
action;
But it's nice to be praised, even if Norma's huffing and puffing over here.]
J-Jeez, you don't keep any secrets, do you? [AHEM.] But thanks...I appreciate it. Learning new crystal eres is never easy, and something tells me water's gonna give me the worst time to try and figure out. Just another challenge, though, I guess. I've been getting bored lately, too...
action;
Yeah, that's how I would look at it. A challenge. [He pauses, gaze wandering.] I have to wonder how different water magic is from sea eres.
action;
I always did like a good challenge. [That's what Relares was - the biggest challenge of her life, and she overcame that. She overcame the impossible language, and it led her to the fabled treasure of her dreams.] And we can only find out through trying, right? When I get real good, I'll try and show you some stuff, maybe.
action;
It doesn't exactly strike him to consider bonding with Sona, himself, given that his priorities lay elsewhere for the time being. Norma is offering, and he's more than fine with that.]
Have you bonded with the other spirits?
action;
[In fact, that one and the fire one were the two Norma really wanted to get in contact with, Nala more so than Eferin. If she could actually find a way to use Resurrection in Luceti - even if it just keeps someone alive as they're on the verge of death, she'll be happy. Eres like that are probably the most beneficial to the people who can't fight or cast.]
What about you, huh? You planning on learning something from the spirity folk?
action;
He shrugs.]
. . . from Nala, maybe. I read that there are times we have to fight, but I'd rather learn to heal first.
action;
[And from what Norma can remember, Nala's supposedly the easiest spirit to communicate with - though she hasn't yet met with her at all. :\ Ah well, maybe...this guy will get on better with her or something. And speaking of this guy, she really ought to ask his name finally.]
Oh, uh, right... I never did get your name, did I? Hehe, whoops! I'm Norma by the way, if you didn't already know.
action;
Oscar does know her name, although he had never interacted with her personally without addressing the group as a whole. And that had been fairly impersonal and more to do with a certain somebody else, and there had been no exchange of names then. Everyone had known each other's by then, a long ways after the first war when organization was first established through the alliance.
So he smiles, and says good-naturedly:]
I heard it quite a bit back in Melfes. Your name, I mean . . . Norma [ – a brief pause – ] Beatty?
My name is Oscar.
action;
Oh wow, this guy's a lot nicer than any of the other Ferines she's yet to have met, both before and after the war/alliance between their races. He even knows her name, or cared enough to remember it when told - bonus points for him, definitely. Seriously, some of his people ought to take notes or something
WALTER. Though with a name like that...huh. It's gonna be tough to think of a good nickname, but inspiration will strike eventually. It always does!]Bullseye! And--...wait, you heard my name a lot on Melfes? Seriously?! [She is astonished for only half a second before she pumps her fist into the air, one leg rising up as well.] Yeeeesss!! It's about time people started talking about my great and wondrous exploits! Tales of the greatest treasure hunter ever, Norma Beatty, will spread far and wide~! Aaah...all this fame, please bring me great fortune soon! I need the dough, big time.
[CLASPS HANDS TOGETHER.]
action;
Well, you were part of the group that retrieved the Whisper Crystal. I had to do maintenance on the automata. [Hahaa.] On the bright side, you don't need something like money in Luceti, right?
action;
[Ugh, the no money is Luceti thing...s-sob. At least everything's mostly free, so it's not all bad, but still! Nothing beats the allure of shiny gems and precious, precious gald.] Oooh...stop reminding me! You have no idea how much I miss just holding a piece of gald, or some rare type of treasure.
action;
Oscar looks off to the side, in the direction of the village.]
There isn't any gald here? You wouldn't need it, but there shouldn't be anything preventing the Organization from bringing it, is there . . .
action;
You really think the Malno-nos would let me have some gald?! I mean, I did go on one of those mission things, so I've got points to spend...!
action;
He's not used to having his personal bubble invaded, no; but it isn't as if he's terribly sensitive to having people close by, Ferines or Orerines, and though he isn't as familiar with the latter, Norma's reason for coming up isn't a hostile one. There isn't a reason to take offense, so Oscar doesn't, even if he's a bit taken back at first.]
I don't see why not. It doesn't hurt to ask, and it sounds like they can bring all sorts of things. You're probably more aware of that than me. Though . . . you're really going to spend your points on gald?
[Wouldn't that be paying for money?]
action;
[Goodbye, Oscar, Norma is in dreamland. She'll be back in a few minutes, but for now she's sighing and spinning around on her heels with her arms stretched wide on either side of her. Ah, what if the Malnosso could really do that? And what should she really ask for with her points? She doesn't have too many, but...hm.]
action;
[Melfes to Norma? She's way more into this than he had thought. And she's so . . . overt about it in a way that's completely different from Walter. It takes Oscar a moment to think of what to say.
This seems to be a regular occurrence with Norma, and this has been their first real conversation.]
. . . Would the others like a gald mine?
[Considering monetary value is nonexistent in Luceti . . . ]
action;
Who wouldn't want a gald mine? [Okay, fine, money doesn't exist here, but--] I guess I could keep it for myself, but I don't wanna work in it...
action;
So she wants other people interested so they could work in it in her stead? That seems awfully opportunistic. But clever. Very clever.]
I'm sure your friends wouldn't mind working in it with you.
